Neal Boulton's HeroinLife: The High Risk Read About Living—Beyond the Needle

Respect

Detoxes and rehabs have helped me in some desperate times, but they aren't the reason I'm clean. NA was helpful too, but again, I relapsed many times. What gave me the irrepressible fear of relapsing again was by skipping detox and rehab ten years ago and withdrawing cold turkey on the couch in my home. Sure I work hard in my recovery, but I respect my clean time now like I never did before."
